Guild Wars: Controls/ Commands/ Emotes

Guild Wars: Command Line

These are used to tell a piece of software to do a specific operation. In computing, a command is a directive to a computer program acting as an interpreter of some kind, in order to perform a specific task. Most commonly a command is a directive to some kind of command line interface, such as a shell. Guild Wars uses the the chat window to achieve this, along with command lines for the short cut or executable (exe) icon on your desktop to perform a directive.

Guild Wars: Emotes/ Chat Commands

An emoticon (emote) is a pictorial representation of a facial expression using punctuation marks and letters, usually written to express a person’s mood. Guild Wars uses emotes via the chat window, using the “/” followed by a specific word ex. “dance” to achieve this. Typing a emote command such as “/dance” will tell the game to have the character on screen dance.

Guild Wars: Keyboard Default Commands/ Controls

These are the keys or buttons you use to interact with the interface of the program/software/ game. Guild Wars uses the computer keyboard and mouse to achieve this.
