Servers don’t cost money, people cost money. Anet is making the final move that as been in the works for a year now. The Automation of the game so it can run on its own with out a team pushing buttons. This will keep the game running for many years as running servers are not as expensive as paying someone 30,000-50,000 a year to sit at the switch.
With the most recent update, several PvP and PvE systems in the game have been changed and automated.
Big changes to the original Guild Wars this week. No more weekend bonus, now they are weekly bonus. instead of 3 days of double points, now its 7 days of triple to double the points for certain things every week.

Here’s a little video telling us some lore behind the company behind the move to Southsun Cove.
This update fixes a bunch of stuff and brings back Flame and Frost’s Victory Bonfires in Lion’s Arch, Hoelbrak & Black Citadel will remain until May 28th. Interacting with them will allow A Rallying Flame to be completed.

A Short story for all the lore hounds out there, written by Scoot McGough of Anet. The story involves Inspector Kiel and Lady Kasmeer Meade and serves as an introduction to Kasmeer’s arrival to Southsun.
